The goal of fifth grade science is to engage students in scientific practices to develop broader understanding and deeper levels of scientific investigation. We begin the year with a review of the scientific method before we launch into our fifth grade units of study that answer the essential questions:
What is the role of energy in our world?
How are organisms structured to ensure efficiency and survival?
How does the position of the Earth in our solar system affect the conditions on our planet?
How do science and technology affect the quality of our lives?
The units of study are: 1. Sound 2. Light and Color 3. Mirrors and Lenses 4. The Earth, Moon, and Sun
